Food Pantries

The Food Bank of the Southern Tier distributes food to people in need through more than 160 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and other hunger relief organizations six counties. They admister several direct service food distribution programs including the food “BackPack Program” and Mobile Food Pantry.

Friendship Donations Network rescues fresh food that would otherwise be thrown away from stores and farms and redistributes it to neighbors in need.

Tompkins County is fortunate to host many different places where one can obtain free food or prepared meals. This website provides a list of Food pantries and hot meals with days and times that they are open along with their locations.

Emergency & supplementary food pantry for people of Ithaca.

Loaves & Fishes of Tompkins County is a Christian ministry providing a place for free meals, hospitality, companionship, and advocacy for those in need, regardless of their faith, beliefs, or circumstances. Loaves & Fishes is located in St. John’s Episcopal Church.

The Southside Community Center Food Pantry partners with Food Bank of the Southern Tier, Wegmans, Tops, Greenstar, and Friendship Donation Network to offer canned goods, beverages, baked goods, sandwiches, salad, meat, milk, eggs, bread, etc. At each pantry they provide three days worth of food to families in need.
